About the Church

About 25 members of the Thursday Prayer Fellowship, which was an interdenominational revival group in existence since 1974, decided on 12th May, 1989 to form a Pentecostal congregation according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. This congregation was later named “Full Gospel Church, Kuwait.” The first gather took place at a house in Abbasiya and weekly meetings were later moved to the National Evangelical Church of Kuwait (NECK). Pastor P. J. Samuel has been the minister in charge since 1989.

The congregation is now under The Indian Pentecostal Church of God in India. The Indian Pentecostal Church of God in India has its headquarters at Kumbanad, Kerala, and is currently the largest Pentecostal church in India.

We believe in the God of the Bible who sent His only begotten Son to save the world. We believe that the Church is the body of Christ. Members are added to the Church by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and subsequently joining Christ symbolically through Water Baptism. We believe in the sovereign authority of the Holy Spirit in the Church as it was in the early New Testament Church.

After the 1990 Persian Gulf war was over, Pastor P. J. Samuel was the first Pentecostal minister to come back to Kuwait in 1991. He was called back to Kuwait to resume his secular job. He was assigned to lead the Pentecostal Worship until all other pastors returned to Kuwait.

The Church has grown in number under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and by the Prayer and dedicated services of the Pastor and Church members.

The following persons have helped us in the past in the growth of the church and have since left Kuwait to India and continue in the work of the Lord.

  • Pastor K..C. Abraham as associate Pastor, now serving as Associate Pastor with Pastor Raju Poovakala.
  • Pastor T. E. Varghese as associate Pastor, now working as IPC district Pastor, Chathanoor.
